George Town,Exumas.

hello everyone, Two Pelicans arrived George Town ,Exumas on February 14th. After a bumpy three nights at the Exuma Yacht Services dock fuelling and stocking up I am safely anchored near Kidd Cove.......in 6 ft of water !!! I have the 45 CQR out on 60 ft of 3/8th G3 as well as the FX37 on 150ft of nylon. Its been wonderful weather but somewhat windy...50 mph gusts last night. The holding is good sand so we are not going anywhere soon!!!
Tonight I had dinner with Klaus and Jenny on Blue Pelican.......the boat we recovered from the reef on Andros last winter !!! Nice to see them again under very different circumstances!!!
My crew Anne left 4 days ago to return to Australia.I am looking on http://www.findacrew.com/ and http://www.7knots.com/ for crew.
If anyone you know would like to spend some time on board just holla !!!
I am very happy to announce that I will become a Grandpa in August.

Under way again.

Hello everyone.
We are finally under way again after a 6 month layover in Vero Beach.Florida . I returned to Canada to see my lovely daughter Jennifer married to Simon Jones on June 3rd . It was a wonderful day. I was informed on Christmas Day I am to be a Grandfather!!! The best present I could have received !!
After Tony Sitko from Latitude 27 Canvas had finished Two Pelicans lovely new dodger and bimini etc in mid December, my crew,Alex (www.findacrew.com)and I motored down the ICW to Miami,South Beach to stock up and await a weather window. Alex fully availed himself of South Beach's pleasures........we finally departed for No Name Harbour in early January 2008,in company with Mary T,Miss Maddy and Gorma.
The crossing to Great Harbour Cay via North Rock,Bimini was
straight forward. We spent one night anchored on the bank.......quite an experience.
Leaving Great Harbour Cay we split up . Mary T decided to find shelter in Chubb Cay........Two Pelicans slugged on into head seas and finally made Nassau at 4.00am on January 19th 2008.
A very intense 3 days at anchor in winds gusting to 50 knots ;Alex dove to unwrap our fouled anchor in 25ft with a 3 knot tide running so we could finally move to a secure dock for 6 days to change crew and stock up.
Alex flew home to Seattle . Anne (www.findacrew.com)came on board from Tortola, after delivering a 50ft Voyage Cat from Cape Town SA.
Two Pelicans sailed from Nassau on the 29th January and arrived Allans Cay that afternoon. After cohabiting with Iguanas for 2 days we left and sailed down to Normans Cay,the old home of a Mr Lehder,Columbian,now serving 200 years in a US jail !! His plane still rests on the bottom inside the harbour........
Leaving Normans Cay we sailed south to Warderick Wells Cay,where Two Pelicans used a mooring provided by the Exumas Park Authority. The next dozen Cays are now a Bahamian Park.......walking trails.......pristine beaches.......very tame wildlife.........remote and fabulous.
Our next stop was Staniels Cay.....of Thunderball fame.......after three days we sailed to Black Point on Great Guana Cay......tomorrow the 8th Feb we will sail to Farmers Cay where we have reserved a mooring for this weekends Norther !!!
After sheltering in Little Farmers Cay for 5 days we finally made it out into Exuma Sound........motor sailing at 7 knots into quite large swells from the SE we finally navigated into Elizabeth Harbour,George Town in the early afternoon on February 14th.
My crew flew home to Australia.
After 3 days rolly poly at Exuma Docking Services,fueling and storing up Two Pelicans is now anchored off Kidd's Cove in Elizabeth Harbour.
The Cruising Regatta starts on March 6th.
